What is the fastest way to move in the forest? The Fast Track installation by Salto offers possible solution for a pedestrian fast track.
The Fast Track was a 51-metre long rubber trampoline in the woods of Nikola-Lenivets, Russia as a site-specific installation commissioned by the contemporary arts festival Archstoyanie in 2012. The idea of the track was to challenge the common understanding of infrastructure as something solely technical and functional that can be ignorant of its surroundings. Therefore, with the Fast Track, Salto proposed an emotionally intelligent and environmentally responsive route through the arts park, that enabled the user to explore new experiences in moving and perceiving their surroundings.
